What’s New in the World of Dying?

NewScoop is excited to host a conversation with practitioners who are camped out on the edges of social evolution as we are forced by diverse factors to re-examine our relationship with dying.

      Guests include:

Sarah Kerr is a Death Doula and Ritual Healing Practitioner of Soul Passages.

Evie Wallace is a Retired Nurse and Group Therapist with lived experience of Medical Assistance in Dying.  She is affiliated with  Dying with Dignity and is providing education outreach on MAID for Alberta Health Services.

Darrin Parkin is the Spiritual Care Coordinator for Hospice Calgary at the Rosedale Hospice.  The care provided at the Rosedale Hospice is rooted in the practise of contemplation.

The Threshold Choir is a community of volunteer a capella singers who “sing for and with those at the thresholds of life.”

Join us on May 9th, 2017 at 12:00 pm (MST) for a Zoomed conversation from your desk or office.

NewScoop YYC is using Zoom, an online platform to host conversations, share stories and nurture communities to create the world we want.

Zoom technology provides the infrastructure for both large and small group experiences.  It allows groups of up to 500 people to move from the large group to small groups of any size.

In the large group, participants have a shared experience of teaching, conversation, story, performance, video or image.  While in the small group, participants experience the intimacy that supports adult learning and the growth of community.

Participants are encouraged to take advantage of the unique experiences provided by both the large and small group platforms. There will be the possibility to opt in or opt out of small groups and to participate with audio and video or only audio. We look forward to seeing your lovely faces and hearing your contributions and reflections.

Login information will be forwarded prior to the event. An Orientation for new Zoom users will happen at 11:55. Please be logged in by then to learn how to get the most out of your Zoom experience.

      Registration is $10 for non-members.

All Individual NewScoop members receive five (5) FREE Zoom Sessions.
